Bury St Edmunds, 02 November 2018
Maker Takeover Bury St Edmunds was a free day-into-evening event designed for creative businesses, innovators, tech people, artists, and those interested in finding out about leading-edge technologies. It introduced new perspectives, tech tools, and possibilities through an exciting programme of performances, talks, and workshops.
The work of extraordinary makers, games designers, and virtual reality sculptors was demonstrated alongside artist innovation projects. The event presented opportunities throughout the day to meet the makers and key regional arts and tech representatives to discuss ideas and receive advice on projects – all within the convivial atmosphere of local independent arts venue The Hunter Club.
In the evening, Collusion hosted VR Gallery – an eclectic mix of live audio visual performance. Highlights included DJ producer Loraine James, CLIP sound collective performing live using subsonic elephant frequencies, VJ Madam BoHo collaborating with live noise art performer Anrufen, Supermerger’s “infinite ascent” of programmed visuals, and the complete sensory takeover of the space by regional art-noise scene anti-hero Ryan Jordan.
